When you accept the true facts of an issue you allow your mind to grow and to be prompted in the knowledge of the issue.
If you selectively accept only what you want to hear, what is pleasing to the ear, you stifle your growth preventing further development of knowledge.  Literally, you become “stuck on stupid,” destined to be, “dumber than dirt.”
